Wolters Packaging Czech streamlines operations and grows with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Centra

Wolters Packaking Czech specializes in the production of technical and packaging solutions made from expanded foams such as EPP, EPS, Neopor, and others. It focuses primarily on the automotive industry, where it supplies components for passenger protection and comfort (e.g., bumper reinforcements, various trunk liners, toolboxes, etc.). It also manufactures thermal insulation boxes for food, fish, and pharmaceutical products, protective packaging for electronics and appliances, and technical solutions for HVAC and construction. Thanks to its modern production facilities in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, it is a reliable partner for customers across Europe.

WPC currently uses a combination of existing ERP and DMS systems, which no longer meet the company's current needs in terms of technology, processes, or work efficiency. Many activities are performed manually, often using paper or unshared Excel spreadsheets, which complicates access to up-to-date information and slows down the company's operations.

Given the need to align internal systems and reporting with the parent company in the Netherlands and to streamline production and support processes, WPC decided to implement a new, unified ERP system. This new system should improve production automation, offer greater flexibility in customization according to customer needs, and ensure standardization of procedures, especially in the area of manual production.

Thanks to the new solution, the company expects, above all, to speed up the flow of information, be able to monitor key business processes in real time, and increase overall efficiency, for example by reducing inventory or shortening production lead times.

The project is being implemented in stages and represents a significant step towards the digitization and modernization of the entire organization.

The digitalization and integration of key processes at WPC, a member of a Dutch group operating in the field of foam sheet production for the automotive sector, required the deployment of a comprehensive ERP solution with an emphasis on supporting a combination of serial and custom production, three-shift operation management, and often extremely short delivery times.

Integration with the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) plays a key role, covering both pre-production processes (e.g., tank filling, impregnation) and production itself (pressing, various types of packaging—internal, final, and manual production). The system supports production on fixed PCs as well as mobile terminals, ensuring flexible and accurate capture of production data directly from the shop floor.

In the area of logistics, we have implemented a WMS solution with advanced picking, scrap tracking, and quality control. Mobile terminals are used in warehouses and shipping, as well as in pre-production and packaging processes. For the automotive sector, we have introduced support for ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) messages and EDI integration with partners for receiving call-offs and confirming deliveries.

The entire ERP solution also includes preparation for further expansion, such as production planning and control using Netronic VPS, reporting in Power BI, machine and equipment maintenance management, and project management for the introduction of new products.

Overall, the newly configured system significantly contributes to greater operational efficiency, data transparency, and the ability to respond quickly to customer requests.
