SharePoint Modernization as a Foundation for Further Development at Mlékárna Hlinsko

Mlékárna Hlinsko is a traditional Czech dairy producer with a history dating back to 1939. Alongside well-known brands such as Tatra, Jesenka, Pikao, and Piknik, the company is also recognized for its emphasis on production quality, continuous investment in modern technologies, and the long-term development of manufacturing and support processes. As a result, it ranks among the leading dairy processors in the Czech Republic and exports a significant portion of its production abroad. It places the same emphasis on the development of internal information systems and process digitalization, which support effective employee collaboration and the long-term stability of the entire company.

SharePoint represents a key platform for Mlékárna Hlinsko's employees' daily work. The company operates an extensive corporate intranet, several internal applications built on the TreeINFO platform, and specialized workflows supporting company operations and management on it.
The moment Microsoft announced the end of support for SharePoint 2019, it was necessary to migrate the entire environment to a new supported platform. At the same time, the customer required the preservation of all functionalities, minimal operational downtime, and the creation of a stable foundation for further development.

Aricoma ensured the complete modernization of the SharePoint environment, ranging from schedule design to production migration and subsequent user support. First, a new SharePoint farm in the Subscription Edition version was built, representing Microsoft's current supported platform. The new environment was prepared in parallel next to the existing infrastructure, which enabled the safe verification of the entire migration process.

Because the customer did not have a separate testing environment, a complete test migration was performed first, followed only subsequently by the live migration. This significantly reduced the risks associated with the production transition while minimizing downtime.

Following successful verification, the production migration took place, during which all key parts of the environment were transferred: the corporate intranet, user sites, and applications built on the TreeINFO platform. The project also included post-launch customer support for the production environment, ensuring smooth system stabilization.

At the same time, Aricoma has long been developing enterprise applications built on the TreeINFO platform for Mlékárna Hlinsko. One of these is the Record of Compliance with Work Duties agenda, which digitalizes the recording of employees' work indicators and provides managers, HR, and management with an overview of compliance with established rules. The solution automates data collection, supports the evaluation of work indicators, report generation, searching, and email notifications, and creates the foundation for HR and payroll processes.

The result is a modern SharePoint environment prepared for further development, which the customer uses not only as a corporate intranet but also as a platform for the digitalization of its own business processes.
