DataCenter architecture & reconsolidation

Data centers are critical to the functioning of organizations, and any disruption can lead to significant downtime and financial losses. In Aricoma we have provided valued guidance to many of our European Union Customers, assisting them to get the best from their data centres.

The main building blocks of data center infrastructure

When designing data center infrastructure, we emphasize the use of modern technologies in the field of servers, data storage, and network elements.
  • Rack servers - proven technology, suitable as a universal solution for most deployments.
  • Blade servers - server HW format for achieving a higher density of servers for the provided load and higher efficiency of space use in the data center while reducing electricity consumption and cooling load.
  • Block storage - storage for storing structured data as well as an efficient file system.
  • File storage – an extension of block storage to store unstructured data - e.g. file systems.
  • Combined solutions - UNIFIED concept enabling the combination of both approaches in a single block.
  • Object storage - storage primarily for Big Data type data and systems for AI support
  • Flash technology - we design all types of storage primarily as AllFlash, i.e. storage using the fastest data storage technologies from SSD to NVMe to SCM (Storage Class Memory, e.g., Intel Optane). This approach allows achieving low latency to cover the performance requirements of even the most demanding applications.
  • Hyperconverged solutions - connecting the server and storage layer in a single HW block, where linear performance growth and high availability on both layers are jointly ensured.

NonIT data center technology

When designing data centers, we define the level of data center availability in Tier I, II, II and IV levels, with Tier IV being the highest level built on 99.99% availability (annual downtime of 53 minutes). To achieve this level of availability, the data center must be equipped with appropriate non-IT technologies.
  • Verification of electrical input for the required load and per-rack or per-workload calculations.
  • Cooling, which is included in the total power consumption. In addition to classic wall units, we also supply under-floor cooling and inter-rack cooling units
  • Extinguishing systems - at the level of local scope and as flooding systems
  • Monitoring of non-IT systems - temperature, humidity, presence of smoke, etc.
  • Physical availability and physical security according to data center location and customer needs

Our concept of building data centers

Our concept of building data centers is subordinated to ensuring the maximum availability of IT technologies in several layers. Each application you need for your activity works on a certain server, uses certain data storage, and communicates with its surroundings thanks to the network infrastructure. We build all three layers with an emphasis on achieving high availability, which ensures operation without application downtime, even in the event of the unavailability of an individual element or block of infrastructure. At the same time, we strive to ensure that all infrastructure layers are in balance and work together as a whole.

We are able to design and operate a data center for customers of any type and size over the long term, from IT infrastructure for a few dozen to hundreds or thousands of users. Where one data center is not enough for any reason, which either cannot provide the required performance due to capacity reasons or the geographical proximity of the provided service is required, we also solve high availability at the data center level. Our concept of building data centers includes any layout model - a single data center, two symmetrical or one main and a second backup data center or two asymmetrical ones and in specific solutions, also the interconnection of a more significant number of data centers or branch network solutions. The design also includes non-IT technologies for the operation of data centers, such as power supply, cooling, extinguishing technology, and other support systems to ensure continuous operation.
