EUDIW European Digital Identity Wallet and eIDAS 2.0 standard

The European Digital Identity Wallet is fundamentally transforming how citizens and businesses manage their data and personal documents. In the near future, the current landscape of local and mutually incompatible national systems will be a thing of the past. EUDIW will consolidate national ID cards, driver's licenses, medical records, and formal qualifications into a single secure platform. Citizens will thus gain absolute control over what specific data they share and with whom. From a technological perspective, this shift requires the construction of a highly robust ecosystem that securely interconnects national registries, commercial service providers, and the users themselves.

Our primary mission at Aricoma is to build a robust technological foundation for this complex system within the Czech Republic. Our work involves developing the core architecture for state institutions. The solutions provided must strictly guarantee the highest level of cybersecurity, operational reliability, and compliance with new European regulations. We focus on ensuring that the state possesses a high-performance identity management tool capable of seamless communication with European data nodes. This initiative is not merely about the application on a citizen's mobile device, but primarily about the complex and highly secure backend infrastructure that validates the authenticity of all digital attributes in real time.

For the EUDIW wallet to fulfill its primary purpose, it must function flawlessly at an international level. For this reason, we are actively involved in European initiatives and large-scale pilot projects that define and test real-world scenarios from everyday life. In practice, we are addressing the technological readiness for situations where a Czech citizen needs to open a bank account in Italy, presents their driver's license during a roadside check in Austria, or shares sensitive medical documentation with a foreign attending physician. We are directly implementing the insights gained from these test deployments into our architectural designs.

The development of the European digital identity forms the cornerstone for further planned innovations, such as the introduction of the digital euro. Within the scope of our activities and related projects, we are exploring how future payment transactions and the exchange of value will function in the new digital space. At Aricoma, we closely monitor these trends and have designed our technological solutions for EUDIW to be fully modular and prepared for the seamless integration of subsequent layers of the modern digital economy from the very beginning.
